Support my swim for youth mental health
I'm swimming laps to raise awareness and funds for Youth Live4Life’s mental health education and youth suicide prevention model (Live4Life).
Live4Life communities deliver Youth Mental Health First Aid training in schools and the wider community, help to lead conversations about mental health that reduce stigma, and promote young leaders as mental health ambassadors.
Australia's suicide rate is 40% higher in rural over metropolitan areas. Please support my LAP it UP swim challenge - your donation can help to increase mental health knowledge among secondary school students, teachers, parents, carers and community members in rural and regional areas.
Thank you so much!
xoxo Yeni

Swimming for Sam My SunShine
Thursday 3rd OctThis October, I decided to participate in a fundraising event for youth mental health. It’s not just a cause close to my heart, but a personal mission—one dedicated to my son, Sam, who is still trying to find his way in this world.
Every day for the past two weeks, I’ve been swimming, pushing my body through the water, stroke after stroke. I've covered over 10 kilometers so far, with a goal to swim between 25mtr pool & 50mtr in the ocean baths & Charlestown pool (750 laps my target) 1000 laps. Every lap is for Sam. Every time I push myself to keep going, it’s because I want him to know: I am here for you, Sam.
It’s hard to know exactly how to help him find his way. I feel that uncertainty every day. Sometimes, as a parent, I want to have all the answers, to guide him in becoming the man I know he can be. But the truth is, I don’t always know what will make things better.
So, I swim.
I swim because it’s something I can do, something that keeps me grounded, and something that shows him that I’ll never stop fighting for him, even when I don’t have the answers. The water becomes my way of saying, “I love you” without words, a reminder that no matter how lost we might feel, I will always be there, swimming beside him.
Sam, if you ever read this, I want you to know that I’m proud of who you are right now. You don’t have to be “better” or different for me to love you. But I’ll always believe in the incredible person you are becoming.
This journey—both in the pool and in life—has taught me that it’s okay not to have all the answers. What matters is that I’m here, swimming each lap with love, hope, and unwavering belief in you.
THANK YOU xoxo
